Military Wives' New Testament with Psalms and Proverbs

Today, I have something  for you. Three things actually....a review, a giveaway, and a really good offer!

I love a good devotion/study Bible.  As a military wife, I was looking for something that applied to me and my season of life.  I found that when I came across Military Wives' New Testament with Psalms and Proverbs (NIV).  I looked it over via the internet and considered the pre-order. For whatever reason, I didn't proceed with purchasing this Bible.  Then a couple of weeks later, I was contacted by Zondervan for the amazing opportunity to review this Bible for you.

This Bible contains a forward by Jocelyn Green, who reminds us that The Bible is your protection and your weapon. An amazing group of contributors have helped include sections called Reinforcements, Home Front Heroes, Hymns, and Basic Training.

Reinforcements are 60 devotions that focus on a specific passage that are meant to challenge and encourage you.  Home Front Heroes are 30 devotions that illustrate a key Bible principal demonstrated by  those on the American home front.  Hymns are included to help strengthen your faith, as well as 10 Bible studies in the Basic Training section.

I absolutely LOVE this Bible. I think it is a staple for all military wives.

Are you a military wife interested in this Bible?  Well, you have the chance to win your own copy.  All you have to do is leave me a comment below telling me how long you have been a military wife. I will select the winner on Sunday. Your Bible will be sent directly to you by the publisher.

  1. Woohoo, this sounds great!!! I have been a military wife 2x over. When we first got married, I yoked myself to an ex-Ranger/infantry guy who was enlisted. After 9 straight years of schooling, this wagon re-entered the military as a Chaplain family. That was back in 2006. We have been all over and still have more to see :-)

Even if I don't win, I plan on doing the deal for the buy one, gift one. I have too many friends in the military who could use this encouragement. Do I get an extra entry for tweeting this?? ;-) Any way to get ahead, eh?

My only beef with the NIV is that they have moved to the gender neutral language that is not in the orignal text, but for this purpose, I can simply use my own ESV with the bible study portion.

    1. I should have put additional entry options in the post. I knew I forgot something.

I have learned not to depend on one single translation/version. I have found myself comparing scripture during Bible study or just while reading. I am doing the One Year Bible right now using the NLT. Being my first experience with it, I have gotten my NKJV out because I was like, "Is that really what it says??"

      Good luck!

  2. I have been a military wife for 11 years on an off! My husband was active duty when I met him. He served four years and then his "time" was up. When we moved to Houston, he joined the reserves for about two years. We then moved to North Carolina for his civilian job and he joined the National Guard as a Chaplain.
He is currently deployed to Egypt and I would LOVE to have this Bible! I am sure there are many great devotions for deployment :)
