Counting My Blessings

I often reflect on the many gifts that God has blessed me with. Its easy to get caught up in life: work, homework, church, practice, housework, but it is so nice to take a step back and look at what really counts.

I am blessed with a loving husband who works hard to care for his family. Jeffrey is involved in everything we do as a family. He takes time for me and the boys and there is never doubt of his love and devotion toward us.

I am blessed with two precious, curious, rambunctious sons. Although Colin and Carson are completely different, they steal my heart in everything they do. Their hugs, kisses, and laughter fill me with joy. What a blessing that they are healthy, growing, and happy!

I am blessed to be expecting this new baby. It doesn't matter if its a girl or a boy. A lot of people ask, "Were you trying for that girl?" We just want a healthy baby to love and share life with.

I am blessed to have a job where I can make a difference. I'm able to spend my days with children who want to please and learn. I can make a positive impact in their lives. I'm able to work with people who are sincere and care about you. I have a job where I am able to be a mom to my own kids and don't have to worry about who will take care for them during school breaks.

I'm blessed with family who I can depend on to care for me and my household, whether it is a baby sitter for a day of golf, picking up the house for me, watching the kids play sports, bringing over fried green tomatoes, or leaving the kids a pile of pumpkins on the door step.

I am blessed to be able to "play" soccer with seven 3 year olds three times a week, sharing high fives and hugs. When else can your inner child come out?

I'm blessed to be part of a church who watches out for its members. I'm surrounded by people who genuinely care about you and who are dedicated to others and serving the Lord even when they are in pain.

I am blessed to be part of God's family, to have a Father who loves me and desires to have me as His. I am able to know, without a shadow of doubt, where I will spend eternity.

Have you counted your blessings today?
