Dear Blog World

I have been home for the last 3 days with sick kids. We had two weeks off for Christmas break and those 2 oldest boys chose 2 am Sunday morning to get sick.

These poor boys. Temps have been around 102 daily and started dropping yesterday. Colin finally threw up last night. He was pretty giddy afterwards (wonder if that was on purpose). He told me this morning he was bored. My response, "Get dressed. I'm taking you to school." Since then, he has not moved from the couch.

This illness, bug, virus, whatever you want to call it, has been harder on Colin than Carson. Usually, Carson is hit hardest. As for Carter. He has been just fine through the whole thing. I think his flu shot helped him.

Anyway....as for me, I am so ready to get some sleep. I don't remember the last time I slept throught the night or even in my own bed for the entire night. Soon and very soon I am hoping to enjoy my warm bed for a long night's sleep. (My fingers are crossed but there is a big HA in the back of my mind).

Snow is in our forecast. Could possibly have a snow day soon. Our school snow fairy, aka Kelly Baxter, predicts no school tomorrow. We'll see.

I am looking forward to starting my new study/devotional. Looking forward to the "online fellowship" of others as well. Looks like Lori and Emily, maybe Leslie, will be joining me. Before then however, I am wanting to finish my book Friendship for Grown Ups which Nicole read last year. Jeff bought this for me while he was at CHBOLC, and I started reading it in July, just haven't finished. I'll be sure to post a review/reflection of it when I'm finished. Probably shouldn't have started it at soccer practice, but I could totally relate!

If you haven't noticed, Jeff has updated his blog. Way to go, honey! You'll need to check it out.

I have to say that I'm also proud of Hilarie for doing an update. I like to tease her about not blogging. She does Facebook. I quit Facebook. I am so very blessed to have her has my friend and sister in Christ.

Colin is starting basketball this weekend. He actually started a week ago with his first practice, but his first game is Sunday. He is playing in the Upward league at the First Baptist Church in Portand. They had a pep rally last night and practice tonight. Unfortunately, we couldn't/can't go. Got to get him well first! I'd love to hear about your experiences with Upward if you have had a child participate. Colin loved his first practice.

Sara had a birthday yesterday. Next time she will celebrate with her new little one. Can't wait to meet this baby. I am so very surprised they haven't found out the baby's sex. I was sure Josh and Sara would! Happy Belated Birthday, Sara! I love you!

Edie has a birthday coming up. Got the date wrong last year. Won't risk it this year! I'll just find my church newsletter to see when it is! Happy Birthday, Edie. I love you too (the sister I never had)!

More birthdays are coming up as well. Today is my cousin Krissy's birthday. I know because I am 3 months older than she is. I miss her and think of her often. Haven't seen her in YEARS! Would love to be able to get in touch with her. Tried to find her on Facebook when I was on there, but it never happened.

Amy's birthday is this month too. I miss you my dear "fraind," and we need to spend some time together one weekend when you come home.

Then there is another birthday coming up. Some lady I know. She's going to be 45 again. I think. She was sure stuck on a number for a couple of years. I think I'll give her a watch for her birthday. She might want one considering she left hers at my house the other day! So, Mom, how old are ya going to be????? Have you noticed your watch is missing????

I guess my time is up. There is a four year old in my lap trying to cuddle. Better go take advantage of it.

  1. Sis, I noticed last night at church when I raised my sleeve up to see what time it was. For a second I thought I forgot to put it on then remembered I let Carter play with it. 50 sounds like a good age to be January 17 don't ya think? What is birthdays but a number, yes, 50 will be easy for me to remember.

  2. Mom, sorry to tell you, but you will not be 50. You were not 17 when you had me. Try again.
