Higgs goes through the book verse by verse, using a narrative form along with commentary to supplement the scripture's message. I have read Ruth before, but never like this. Higgs makes the story come alive by placing the reader in the midst of Ruth's journey with her mother-in-law Naomi.
As I read the book, I experienced the story of Ruth like never before. Each chapter contains wit and humor. Higgs uses her own personal stories along with stories of other women in a section called Ruth in Real Life. In the back of the book, you will find discussion questions and a study guide. This book would serve as an awesome personal Bible study as well as a group study.
I received a free copy of this book from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review.
This one sounds good. I'm definitely adding it to my TBR list. Great review!
